From July 1, we will see a new man in charge at Old Trafford, a sight which will create an odd feeling as this will be the first time since November 1986 that another man will be in charge of Manchester United.
David Moyes' appointment as Manchester United boss has been welcomed by the majority of United fans - and although he is technically not the Red Devils' manager just yet, some big name players are already being linked with the club.
Many football fans believe that Moyes will not be able to win the league in his first attempt, which means that the Champions League is out the window too - but this is too early to say and unfair to say the least.
Considering the big names which have been linked with the club, Moyes could build an even stronger Manchester United team than the one we saw lift their 20th league title this year.
Manchester United will always be one of the biggest clubs in world football, and it is difficult to say whether losing Sir Alex Ferguson also means that United lose some of its attractiveness - but I highly doubt it.
Since the announcement, Moyes has already been linked with five potential signings to strengthen the current Manchester United side - and if he manages to pull off two or three of them, it will signal his intent that he is not here to mess around.
Let’s take a look at which five players could join Moyes at Manchester United next year.
Leighton Baines | Everton
Probably one of the more obvious choices - considering Manchester United are already big fans of the full-back. Now that Moyes will be arriving it could only be a matter of time before Manchester United finally put a bid on the table for Baines.
Baines has had a great season for Everton and would definitely be an improvement at left-back, especially with the inconsistency of Patrice Evra.
Baines could improve a little more on his defending capabilities but similar to Evra, he is great going on the attack, and that suits both his style, and the style of Manchester United. It is expected that Baines will be Moyes’ first signing for United.
Marouane Fellaini | Everton
Another big player for Everton, the Belgian international has been linked with the likes of Chelsea in the past, but now that Moyes has taken over at Manchester United, we could soon see Fellaini arriving at Old Trafford.
There is no question that Manchester United need a central midfielder and have been linked with players such as Kevin Strootman, but with a release clause in his contract and the fact that he is already established in the league, the Goodison Park record signing may jump at the chance to play in the Champions League for Manchester United.
According to the Daily Mirror, Manchester United would allow Moyes to spend big, and that means he would receive substantial funds to make the Belgian join him at Old Trafford, and especially with Paul Scholes set for retirement and Anderson possibly on his way out, this certainly would pave the way for Fellaini to join his boss in Manchester.
Gareth Bale | Tottenham
One of the most in-form players in football today, Gareth Bale is certainly hot property as the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are continually linked with a move for the Welshman.
The Sun have reported that Andre Villas-Boas has warned David Moyes off of making a bid for Bale, saying that it would cost a lot in the first place - plus they are in the process of offering a new contract.
Real Madrid are also favourites to land his signature, but if Moyes can do enough to beat off Los Blancos in the race to sign Bale, Manchester United fans would certainly be happy with the way their new boss has started life at Old Trafford.
With the opportunity to play alongside Welsh legend Ryan Giggs, it could be a difficult decision to turn down a move to Old Trafford for Bale - and with Antonio Valencia and Nani not having had the best of seasons, United will definitely be on the lookout for a brilliant winger, and they don’t get any better than Bale at the minute.
Karim Benzema | Real Madrid
With the future of Wayne Rooney reportedly uncertain, with Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain clearly interested in the English International, The Sun have claimed that Moyes would look to replace him with Karim Benzema, as Robert Lewandowski edges closer to a move to German champions, Bayern Munich.
Whenever we mention a striker leaving Real Madrid, it is usually Gonzalo Higuain who is rumoured to be on the way out, but United have always been interested in the former Lyon striker, and Madrid may be tempted to sell him this summer.
Real Madrid could sell Benzema to Manchester United in an attempt to divert their interest from Cristiano Ronaldo, and allowing them to make the first move for Bale. But if rumours are anything to go by, then Moyes could still persuade Rooney to stay; if not then we can expect Javier Hernandez to be playing in white next summer, with Benzema or another Real Madrid star plying their trade for Manchester United.
Cristiano Ronaldo | Real Madrid
That other Real Madrid star is none other than Cristiano Ronaldo
What could possibly make Moyes more popular with the Manchester United fans than bringing back Cristiano Ronaldo to the club that made him into the player he is today. Reports suggest that David Gill has flown out to Madrid to meet with Jorge Mendes, in an attempt to thrash out a deal which could see Ronaldo returning to Old Trafford, as speculation continues to mount about him refusing to sign a new contract at Real Madrid.
Even though Ferguson will not be the manager, Ronaldo would still be interested in a move to Manchester United, as talks have already begun between his agent and the club, with the Red Devils' sponsors also willing to pay up a substantial amount in order to challenge with the likes of big spenders Paris Saint-Germain.
If Manchester United miss out on Bale, then they could turn their interest to Ronaldo; however, this applies the other way too: if Ronaldo is the priority and they miss out, then expect the attention to turn towards White Hart Lane.
What do you Manchester United fans think? Which of these players would you like to see David Moyes sign for United next season?
