Alexandru Tiganasu was the toast of the terraces in Romania last night, after his brace helped CSMS Iasi secure a 2-0 victory against Universitatea Cluj.

The 22-year-old full-back - who can also operate on the left side of midfield - turned in a sensational match-winning performance, with the standout moment coming when he opened the scoring in the 21st minute.

Receiving a cross-field ball in an advanced position about 25-yards from goal, the Romania U21 international took one touch to set himself before unleashing a fierce ripper of a shot that sailed past the opposition goalkeeper and into the far top corner.

Judging by the collective reaction from Tiganasu, his manager, team-mates and fans, sensational strikes such as this are not too common from the talented youngster, currently on loan from Astra Ploiesti.

So, when he popped up again to double the scoring and ensure all three points for CSMS Iasi, it really was an evening to remember for Tiganasu.
