Daniel Sturridge had scored 15 goals in the previous season-and-a-half prior to his move from Chelsea to Liverpool in the January transfer window, but the young forward has managed to net 11 goals in 15 appearances during his time with the Reds.

The 23-year-old has been a revelation during his short stint at Anfield, flourishing playing more regularly in his favoured role as a central striker - filling in expertly in the absence of Luis Suarez.

Sturridge's hat-trick in the weekend defeat of Fulham took him beyond 10 Premier League goals this season - one of which was scored for Chelsea - and makes him the most potent player in the division in terms of minutes per goal.

The England international is placed ahead of illustrious challengers Robin van Persie and Gareth Bale in the rankings, and also boasts a record of a goal more regularly than Liverpool teammate Suarez.
