Eden Hazard: I want godlike Mourinho at Chelsea

Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard has said Jose Mourinho is nearly as big as God at Stamford Bridge and is keen to work with him.

Hazard told French newspaper L’Equipe that he would relish the chance to play under the Real Madrid boss and was open to him coming back to the Blues.

Mourinho has been heavily linked with leaving Real Madrid this summer and returning to the club where he won two consecutive Premier League titles in 2005 and 2006.

The writing is on the wall for the former Inter Milan boss at the Santiago Bernabeu after PSG owners revealed they had rejected an approach from Real Madrid for their manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Chelsea fans still chant Mourinho’s name and most will be delighted at the prospect of his return – including among the playing staff.

“I would like him [Mourinho] to come here. Mourinho is the best coach in the world,” Hazard is quoted as saying.

“Everyone is talking about him here. He is not God, but almost. The fans and the players love him. I wait and see.”

Hazard was speaking ahead of Chelsea’s Europa League final clash with Benfica on Wednesday, though he is a major doubt after picking up an injury in the win over Aston Villa on Saturday.
