Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has praised duo Aaron Ramsey and Laurent Koscielny and he is happy the pair are getting the credit they deserve from the Gunners fans.

Both Koscielny and Ramsey were seen as fringe players at the start of the season as the likes of Thomas Vermaelen, Per Mertesacker, Mikel Arteta and Abou Diaby were the favoured picks in their positions. But the two have been very impressive in recent months and their performances have seen them earn their spot in the Arsenal first-team.

The two have been at the heart of Arsenal's recent impressive run which has seen them go unbeaten in eight Premier League games.

Also in those eight games unbeaten, the side have only conceded on four occasions and have not conceded more than one goal a game.

Aaron Ramsey won the club's player of the month for April and Laurent Koscielny finished in second place and Arsene Wenger is happy that the two players are getting the credit they deserve.

The French manager has revealed that the two never gave-up when they weren't a first team choice and he believes that their attitude and persistence is the main reason as to why they are now so influential to the team.

"Koscielny at the start of the season was not a regular player. Ramsey for a while was not in the team," Wenger told Arsenal Player.

"If you keep going, if you have that stamina and persistence in your attitude, at some stage you will be rewarded.

"Certainly their outstanding performances have been noticed but as well the quality of their spirit has been rewarded by our fans."
