Relegation is tough to take for football clubs and it doesn’t get much better once the season is over.

After the tears have been wiped away and the evaluations started on the disasters that were their attempts to stay in the Premier League, the bottom three begin the fight to keep hold of the player most likely to get them back to the big time.

Premier League residents for next season will undoubtedly be sniffing around the best stars looking for a bargain purchase.

The best way to get back into the Premier League following relegation is probably to keep hold of your best players, with the extra bit of quality in the Championship always proving crucial.

Which players will be the highest on the shopping lists though? Relegated and relegation threatened sides just can’t compete with big league financials once suffering the drop and there is often little they can do to resist it.
