Ahead of Wednesday’s Europa League final between Chelsea and Benfica at the Amsterdam Arena, UEFA gave a set of fans from each club the opportunity to win the ultimate Europa League experience including two tickets to the game itself.

Labelled as ‘The Race’, the contest sees two die-hard fans from each club partnered with two of the World’s finest football freestylers going head-to-head throughout the streets of Amsterdam.

In a race across the city, both teams competed against each other in a series of live challenges.

The competitors firstly had to find the ball with their club’s crest on as 200 Europa League match-balls were dropped out of a net that descended 600cm above the ground.

Following a bike ride through the Dutch capital, the initiative was then handed to the freestylers who attempted to buy their team’s precious seconds by shooting footballs into a stack of tyres, lying in a barge on one of the city’s canals.

The teams then had to navigate a ball through the cobbled streets of the city centre, past imposers acting as innocent bystanders and then find the net against an opposing goalkeeper.

The remarkable race concluded with both sides competing in a footrace to the Amsterdam Arena with the winning side being presented the Europa League trophy by 2013 final ambassador Patrick Kluivert.
