Aaron Ramsey has been the subject of much abuse and frustration from Arsenal fans during the last couple of seasons.
Giving the ball away carelessly, slowing down counter attacks and drifting out of games have been the main accusations directed towards the young midfielder.
But in recent weeks his performances in the centre of midfield along side Mikel Arteta have been exceptional. So is it time some supporters gave him their apology?
At the start of the season Ramsey was often placed on the wing, which more often than not didn't go very well.
He gave the ball away in attacking areas, he lacked the pace and skill to beat his opposing full back and he looked out of his depth at this level.
As the criticism and abuse from fans increased the performance levels dropped even lower and it was clear it was having a negative effect on him.
Wenger himself was criticised for using him so often. Ramsey and players like Gervinho and Santos felt the full force of the anger from fans after a dreadful first half to the season, which saw the Gunners fall as low as 10th in the table.
Jack Wilshere was often used alongside Arteta or the inconsistent Abou Diaby in centre of midfield and things seemed to improve slightly. Wilshere was then injured in the 2-1 defeat to Tottenham and Diaby suffered a long-term knee injury shortly afterwards. The injuries left supporters fearing the worst.
However, since then the midfield three has consisted of Tomas Rosicky, Arteta and Ramsey and Arsenal haven't looked back, the three combined have provided an abundance of energy in both defending and attacking which has helped the Gunners overtake Tottenham in the race for fourth spot.
Ramsey has provided the midfield with a true box to box midfielder, putting in lots of important tackles and closing down opposition players quickly. This as well as an improvement in his ability to retain possession has seen him be voted as Man of the Match on more than one occasion, including a wonderful performance against Everton. And also led to him being named Player of the Month.
How do you rate Ramsey performances in recent weeks? Did you believe in him earlier in the season? Leave you thoughts below.
