Boca Juniors legend scores Copa Libertadores stunner

Juan Roman Riquelme rolled back the years to help Boca Juniors knock defending Copa Libertadores champions Corinthians out of the competition.

The Argentine legend opened the scoring in the 25th minute, taking a quick free-kick on the right flank before getting the ball back and bending it over the keeper’s head and into the far corner.

Paulinho grabbed a 50th minute equalizer for the Brazilian outfit, but they couldn’t find another and crashed out 2-1 on aggregate.

Boca will now play Newell’s Old Boys in the quarter-finals, as they look to win their first Copa title since 2007.

And, with Riquelme still producing the goods at La Bombonera, it would take a brave man to bet against them going all the way.
