Norwich City plot move for Porto star
Norwich City are plotting a move for Porto midfielder Steven Defour
Porto's Steven Defour has emerged as the next big-name transfer target for Norwich City.
Reports in talkSPORT suggest Canaries boss Chris Hughton is keen to make the Belgian international his second big name signing of the summer.
Hughton has already sealed the signing of Dutch international striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel, who will arrive at Carrow Road on 1st July.
Defour is unlikely to come cheap though, having cost his current side around €6m when he joined in 2011.
It is not known how much money Hughton has to spend this summer but, with the aforementioned van Wolfswinkel having cost a reported £8.5m, it seems the board are giving him serious financial backing.
If Defour was to become available Norwich would likely face competition for his signature from a host of clubs across Europe.
The 37 cap Belgian international has previously been linked with Manchester United amongst others.
Defour should have no trouble settling in England, with no fewer than ten of his international teammates currently plying their trade in the Premier League.
It's been a strange season for the Norfolk-based club, despite only securing their top flight status on the penultimate day of the season they find themselves only two points adrift of a top ten finish.
Norwich will end the campaign with a trip to last year's champions Manchester City before embarking on their third consecutive season in the top flight next year.
