Inter Milan are reported to be ready to reignite their interest in Aaron Lennon, having missed out on the signature of the Tottenham winger during the summer transfer window of last year.

According to Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, Inter have identified Lennon as a player capable of reviving their fortunes next season as they club look establish themselves as title contenders once again.

Inter are placed ninth in Serie A during the first season of Andrea Stramaccioni's reign at the San Siro, and are likely to rebuild during the imminent transfer period with drastic improvement required next term.

The Milan club had been interested in signing Lennon from Spurs last year before 26-year-old committed his future by signing a new four-year deal at White Hart Lane, but Inter are prepared to make their move again.

Having missed out on signing the England international 12 months ago, Inter faced Spurs in the Europa League this season, during which Lennon played a role in thrashing the Italians 3-0 in the first leg.

Lennon came on as a substitute in the second leg at the San Siro as Spurs managed to sneak through to the next round courtesy of a last-minute goal from Emmanuel Adabayor, having relinquished their three-goal advantage.

The former Leeds winger has made 327 appearances for Spurs during eight seasons in north London, having joined as a teenager in June 2005 for a fee of £1 million.
