Arsenal are being linked with a summer move for Morgan Schneiderlin.
The Times claims Gunners chief Arsene Wenger is ready to increase his interest in the Frenchman, and is hoping to take advantage of the current problems Southampton.
Chairman Nicola Cortese has threatened to walk away from the south coast club, whilst manager Mauricio Pochettino insists he will follow if the Italian does hit the exit door.
Schneiderlin joined the Saints in 2008, moving from Strasbourg to St. Mary’s for £1million.
And, the 23-year-old has become one of the club’s most consistent performers over the past five years, impressing in League One, the Championship and the Premier League last season.
It’s a rise to prominence that appears to have impressed the Arsenal manager, who was first linked with a £10million move for the player back in April.
The Gunners have a track record of bringing players to north London from the Saints, with both Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain now first team regulars.
Schneiderlin would follow in their footsteps if he completed a move to Arsenal, but Pochettino is unlikely to want to sell if he stays at the club.
