Cristiano Ronaldo’s odds to make a move to Chelsea this summer have been slashed by bookmakers.
The Daily Express reports that the Portuguese winger has come in to 6/4 from 3/1 to move to Stamford Bridge from Real Madrid, with Wayne Rooney’s odds to do the same moving in a similar direction.
It’s the Ronaldo transfer talk that is surprising however, given that Jose Mourinho is tipped to take the Blues helm once again this summer.
‘The Special One’ and Ronaldo have been involved in a public feud, with the Portuguese winger reportedly snapped swearing at his manager after scoring for Los Blancos.
His ability can’t be denied though, and if Mourinho were to take over at Chelsea once again, he’d struggle to turn down the idea of having Ronaldo at his disposal.
The Blues are poised to finish third this season, with Rafael Benitez walking away from the interim position with his head held high following victory in the Europa League final on Wednesday night.
However, Mourinho will be expected to mount a Premier League challenge on return to Chelsea, and Ronaldo could be the man to put the west London outfit back in title contention.
