Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with a move for Barcelona winger Alexis Sanchez, but their respective pursuits have got a whole lot more complicated.
According to the Daily Express, big-spending AS Monaco are ready to enter the fray for Sanchez as they look to make a mark in Ligue 1 next season.
Sanchez has struggled to find his best form at Barcelona since he joined from Serie A side Udinese in 2011 and all three of Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are credited with an interest.
Manchester United will be the most uncertain destination due to Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, as new boss David Moyes could well identify different targets.
Arsenal are reportedly ready to spend big this summer and manager Arsene Wenger will be keen to add more top class players to the Emirates Stadium squad as he looks to make them Premier League title challengers once more.
However, Monaco’s billionaire owner Dmitry Rybolovlev is desperate for his side to challenge for honours after investing heavily to get them out of Ligue 2.
Chelsea may be the only club of the three mentioned able to compete with Monaco’s spending due to their own Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich.
