Barcelona bid rejected for Neymar

.

Barcelona have had an opening bid for Brazilian superstar Neymar rejected.

The Santos sensation has been linked with Europe’s biggest and best clubs over the past 12 months, with both Chelsea and Manchester City keen on bringing the 21-year-old to the Premier League.

It’s the La Liga giants who have made the first move for the player however, with Santos vice-president Odilio Rodrigues revealing that there is not an agreement in place despite meetings with Barca’s sporting director and president.

"There is no agreement for Neymar, there are talks, I met [Barcelona's president Sandro] Rosell and [Barcelona's sporting director] Raul Sanllehi last week," Rodrigues told Radio A Xarxa.

"We had a very frank conversation. Talks need to continue because the offer was not good enough."

Rodrigues also revealed that the club expects to receive a bid from Real Madrid, but that the final decision will rest on the player’s shoulders.

"We know Real Madrid will make an offer too. Neymar will choose the team he wants, it's Neymar's opinion that is important," he concluded.

Neymar has already made 32 appearances for Brazil since making his debut back in 2010, scoring 20 goals in the process for his country.

However, it's his club future which is taking all the headlines around the world, and a big decision would appear to be imminent.
