Edinson Cavani’s agent has revealed that a decision on his future is imminent.
And, whilst not giving too much away with regards to specific information, Claudio Anellucci explained that an announcement regarding his client can be expected in the coming days.
"Cavani in this moment has a contract with Napoli, but something more about him will be known in the next days," he told Radio Sportiva.
Anelluci did admit that a minimum fee release clause in Cavani’s contract does pose a potential transfer predicament however, with the player being made aware of interest but only allowed to move if the correct fee is met.
"Whoever is interested in him will knock at Napoli's door," he added.
"Generally when there is a clause to negotiate, a player's conditions are absolutely clear - in case of just interest, these decisions will be announced to the player."
Manchester City have been linked with a number of strikers in recent weeks, although their transfer plans could well have changed following Roberto Mancini’s sacking following defeat in the FA Cup final.
Radamel Falcao is reported to be on the Etihad Stadium radar, with space available up-front for the Citizens following Mario Balotelli’s departure back in January.
Chelsea have also been linked with a move for Falcao, and have the same managerial problem as Rafa Benitez leaves his interim position at Stamford Bridge next week.
However, the Blues are another club short of a striker, and Cavani would add an extra attacking dimension alongside Fernando Torres and Demba Ba in west London.
