Arsenal and Manchester City target Stevan Jovetic will have his future decided in the next few days, but no decision has been made as yet.
That is according to Fiorentina sporting director Daniele Prade, who told Tuttosport that another of Jovetic’s suitors, Serie A champions Juventus, were yet to make an approach.
Arsenal and Manchester City have been credited with an interest in Jovetic for some time, but Prade insisted Fiorentina’s owners and the player’s representatives had yet to be consulted on the situation.
The Gunners are expected to go on a spending spree after securing fourth place in the Premier League on the final day.
Manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly getting a £70million kitty to improve the Emirates Stadium squad and Jovetic has been mentioned as his top target.
Manchester City will also be looking to add further quality to their squad when they appoint a new manager, as they begin the process of trying to win back their Premier League title from rivals Manchester United.
Fiorentina will be under pressure to sell after they suffered final day heartbreak in Serie A on Sunday.
Vincenzo Montella’s side were qualifying for the Champions League until the last five minutes of AC Milan’s clash with Siena – a dubious penalty converted by Mario Balotelli and Philippe Mexes header secure the victory they needed to take the last qualification spot.
Despite this disappointment, Prade insisted it was not a forgone conclusion that Jovetic would be the Viola this summer.
