With his contract due to expire at the end of this season, Craig Eastmond's Arsenal career is over as he prepares to join Colchester United.
The 22-year-old has agreed a two-year contract for the Us, where he made 13 appearances on a loan spell earlier this season.
Once tipped for the very top, the young Englishman has struggled to break into the Gunners' first-team, with injuries stalling his development and loan spells at many different clubs not leaving a stable platform on which to learn.
An FA Youth Cup winner in 2009 - a squad of which only Jack Wilshere and Francis Coquelin have also appeared for the first-team - he made 10 first-team appearances during his time at the Emirates Stadium.
Eastmond told the official Colchester United website: “I enjoyed my time here on loan and now I just want to carry on where I left off. This is a place that feels good to me and one that has made me feel part of a family."
With Eastmond's departure, it looks highly likely that Sanchez Watt will also follow him out of the door, himself struggling to make an impact on the first team and having spent time on loan at Colchester United earlier this season.
