When Bojan left Barcelona for Roma in 2011, he said that he had no intention of returning, as he was frustrated that fellow youngsters Pedro and Tello were getting more of a chance than he was, but it looks like he may return against his own wishes.
At the start of his time at Roma he looked bright, and it appeared that Roma may have been the place where the Spanish starlet could show his true potential, but then form deserted him, and it seemed like the stronger defences in Serie A may have been too much for a young striker who had only played in Spain.
After a disappointing campaign where he only managed five goals, he was loaned to AC Milan from Roma, as the second year of his loan deal with the Giallorossi, He made a slow start but has slowly come around and has started to develop as a player, and as shown in the Champions League when the Rossoneri met the Blaugrana, he has improved.
He is now keener to take players on and beat them. Although he has only managed three goals in 19 appearances, it looks like he may have found his best position as a winger and not as the focal point in attack.
Also with his impressive passing ability, he may fit right back in at Barcelona. Although he would have to do a lot to take Pedro’s place, and also establish himself as higher in the pecking order than David Villa, it’s not impossible, and if he can become a more consistent performer, it could happen
Although he stated that he never wants to go back to Barcelona, it looks like it could be the best move for his career, but may need another spell on loan before he fully finds himself, whether he wants it or not.
