Bayer Leverkusen had an impressive Bundesliga season, finishing in third spot, just a point off Borussia Dortmund, Champions League finalists.

Their leading marksmen, Stefan Kießling finished as this season’s top-scorer in Bundesliga with 25 goals in just 34 appearances.

Kießling has been a regular scorer for Leverkusen after joining from 1. FC Nuremberg in 2006. He finds himself in second spot in clubs all time top scorer’s list with 98 goals in 220 appearances so far.

Sascha Lewandowski and Sami Hyypia had brought the smile back among Leverkusen's faithful by getting the best out of their squad.  Stefan Kießling, Andre Schurrle, Daniel Carvajal, Gonzalo Castro and Lars Bender have been their key performers this season. Kießling has been scoring goals heavily for a while now, and had played a crucial all round role in last season’s second placed finish as well.

Borussia Dortmund had identified the German as the suitable replacement for Bayern Munich bound star striker Robert Lewandowski.

Kießling was quick to quash the rumours linking him to Dortmund and is reported to fulfil his contract, which spans till 2015.

Can he be tempted with a move abroad, especially to English Premier League?

Premier League has been football’s biggest market and the world-wide following has been a huge attraction for footballers. The top four battle is interesting and unpredictable every season paving. Teams like Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur have huge followers across the globe, making them an attractive choice for the players. These teams possess an attractive playing style and some of them are looking forward to reinforcement in striking department as well. Premier League is more competitive than most of the leagues around the world. The pace and speed with which the matches are played makes it even more attractive for the neutrals.

Target man Kießling is blessed with aerial abilities which increases his marketability in the physical league. Mr consistent probably had his best spell in Bundesliga this season. His deadly combination with Schurrle was a nightmare for opposition defences. He is a threat in set pieces with clever flick ons, which is a deadly weapon in and around the six yard box.

Kießling can make a good impact in Premier League with his overall contributions, but it remains to be seen, whether he finds it more attractive than Bundesliga. Even though he has been a consistent presence in goal scoring charts, six caps for national team doesn’t do justice to his striking abilities. It can improve with a potential switch to Premier League.

Stefan Kießling was signed by Leverkusen as a replacement for Dimitar Berbatov, who became a sensation at Spurs before winning the Premier League with Manchester United. It remains to be seen whether Kießling opts for a similar path to grace Premier League lovers. One thing is for sure his skill set is suited for Premier League and he can make an instant impact.
