Arsenal chief executive, Ivan Gazidis, has vowed to spend in the summer to make the Gunners title challengers once more.

He claimed the club were happy with Arsene Wenger’s men securing fourth but insisted that was the bare minimum in terms of expectation and he was ready to sanction transfers to push Arsenal towards winning a trophy next season.

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku says he isn’t worried about the Blues’ plans for him next season and is content to wait to hear from them.

A successful season-long loan with West Brom has had many tipping him for a more prominent role at Stamford Bridge next season, but the young Belgian insists he will relax this summer and is ready for any eventuality.

Borussia Dortmund manager Jürgen Klopp says he has tears in his eyes watching Manchester United’s use of Shinji Kagawa.

The Japan international moved to Old Trafford from BVB last summer and Klopp says putting him on the left wing is a travesty, as he believes Kagawa is one of the best attacking central midfielders in the world.

Gylfi Sigurdsson believes it is vital that Tottenham Hotspur keep hold of Gareth Bale if they are to make another assault on the top four next season.

Bale was Spurs standout performer this season, scoring 26 goals in all competitions, though it has led to him being linked with a big money transfer in the summer.

Manchester City will use their post-season tour of the United States to launch a new kit deal with sports clothing manufacturer Nike.

The Citizens’ current deal with Umbro has been bought out and Nike will pay £12million a year for the next six years to supply the kit.

Barcelona vice president Carles Vilarrubi has expressed relief at the news that Jose Mourinho is to leave Real Madrid.

Vilarrubi claimed the Portuguese had been a “scourge” during his time in La Liga and his departure is a positive for Spanish football as a whole.
