Arsenal star happy but “honoured” by Juventus interest

.

Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski insists he is happy at Emirates Stadium but said he is “honoured” at Juventus being interested in him and refused to rule out a move.

The Germany international’s form has been up and down since his £11million move from Cologne last summer and he has been linked with a switch to the Serie A champions.

Podolski hinted that there had been offers made for him but insisted he was powerless to stop them coming in, though he did admit it was flattering to be connected with such prestigious names.

"Of course I feel honoured. There are always offers, I don't have any influence on that," he is quoted as saying in the Express.

The 27-year-old reassured Gunners fans by claiming he was content with life in north London and did not see any reason as to why he would want to go elsewhere.

However, Podolski would not rule anything out and accepted that things can change quickly in football, however much he wanted to stay.

“But, the fact is, I have a contract with Arsenal. There's no reason to leave the club. However, in the football-business a lot of things are conceivable,” he added.

Podolski has only completed 90 minutes twice for Arsenal this season and many have used this as an indicator that manager Arsene Wenger isn’t entirely satisfied with the former Bayern Munich man.

However, reports in his homeland have suggested a long-term ankle injury is to blame and that Arsenal have been trying to manage it before turning to surgery this summer.
