Manchester City will now have to fight off Chelsea and Real Madrid if they want to land exciting Malaga youngster.

Current Malaga manager Manuel Pellgrini has been heavily tipped to take over at Etihad Stadium in the summer following Roberto Mancini’s sacking last week.

The Chilean was then linked with taking Isco with him to Manchester City but it now appears they will have serious competition from Chelsea and Real Madrid, according to talkSPORT.

The report claims Santiago Bernabeu president Florentino Perez is planning wholesale changes at the club after it was confirmed manager Jose Mourinho would be leaving at the end of the season.

One of Real Madrid’s major targets will be the promising 21-year-old Spain international, according to the report.

However, Chelsea have a long-standing interest in Isco and they were reported to have first option to sign him earlier this year.

It was claimed that the Blues loaning young Brazilian striker Lucas Piazon to Malaga had out the Stamford Bridge club on pole position to land Isco.

It has been a second successful season for the former Valencia trainee, as he took on greater responsibility to fill the void left by Santi Cazorla’s switch to Arsenal.

His performances in the Champions League this season led to his profile being raised and him being considered one of the finest young talents in Europe.
