Premier League: Summer of 2013 to be the biggest yet?
With the Premier League season coming to an end, we now look towards a summer of transfer activity
Trophies have been lifted and the Premier League season has come to an end, which only means for one thing - a summer of transfer gossip, activity and managerial changes.
Manchester United have their 20th league title all nice and polished in the cabinet mostly thanks to the flying Dutchman Robin van Persie, who has again had an outstanding season with a golden boot winning 25 league goals.
However, his support man, Wayne Rooney may be walking out the Old Trafford doors in the summer looking for pastures new. He joins the list of players who, by the end of summer, you will be sick of hearing their names - Lewandowski, Bale, Cavani, Ronaldo and Falcao.
These stars will have their names floating just about everywhere in the world of football media with 'Will they go?' or 'On his way to.'
With £80 million the current transfer record, will anyone be brave enough to challenge that? Possibly Ronaldo himself can break his own record, or even a young Welshman, in Gareth Bale could come close himself.
The summer will also give us the chance to reflect on those leaving English football. Jamie Carragher, Paul Scholes, Michael Owen, Steve Harper and just a short ferry trip away David Beckham are all hanging up their boots.
Sir Alex Ferguson, with all the stick and the jeers he receives from some (most notably for 'fergie time') has been an amazing servant to football and has delivered the success which Manchester United have seen over and over in recent time.
He is of course to be replaced by fellow Scot David Moyes, who is tipped for great things at Old Trafford.
However, the club to watch during summer is Chelsea. Things are all looking a bit unstable at the Bridge and everything has a depending factor - will Jose Mourinho make his Chelsea return?
And will the Blues get rid of Torres? Will Petr Cech still be number one? Who will come in and for how much money? Watch this space.
What do you think will happen during the summer? Tells us in the comments section.
