Leroy Fer was linked to a move to Everton during the January transfer window, but the deal was cancelled at the last minute when his medical revealed that he had problem with his knees.
In recent weeks Everton and other premier league clubs have been scouting the Dutch midfield player and it is believed that they will attempt to sign the player again in the summer.
Fer is a product of the famous Feynoord Academy and he made 100 senior appearances for the club. Fer then switched to FC Twente who paid €5 million for his services. He has made close to 50 appearances for Twente and looks set to leaving the club for the Premier League in the summer.
Style of Play
His style of play is similar to Marouane Fellaini and he is seen as a possible replacement to the Belgian at Merseyside. He is a midfield enforcer with a good physical presence coupled with great energy ideal for a box-to-box player. He is good in the air and confident with either feet. He would have to work on his disciplinary record which isn’t pretty but it is not unusual for a player who looks to dominate to get booked every once in a while.
What he will bring to the Everton Squad?
He will bring quality in the midfield and would help to plug the gap left after the possible departure of Fellaini and Phil Neville. His style of play would also compliment Darron Gibson and Leon Osman and would help the midfield become efficient and effective.
