Following another dramatic final day for Arsenal, Arsene Wenger's men secured Champions League football for a 16th successive season.

The Gunners are thought to have a budget of £70 million to spend over the summer, but will the shrewd Frenchman produce the goods?

Fans have been critical, in recent seasons, of a lack of big money signings acting as the catalyst to the North London club's trophy drought. Yet following big money deals with the likes of Puma and Emirates, as well as the new £5.5 billion television deal with the Premier League for the coming season, Arsenal are thought to have substantial funds to mount a serious title challenge.

With benchwarmers such as Andrei Arshavin, Marouane Chamakh, Park Chu-Young, Nicklas Bendtner and Sebastian Squillaci thought to be surplus to requirements; it is believed that wages are available for big name signings.

So with Wenger having serious money at his disposal and the ability to alter the wage structure who will he sign?

Stevan Jovetic

It is thought the Montenegrin forward favours a move to London instead of Italian champions Juventus. Jovetic sees England as having the strongest league in world football and would love the chance to work with Wenger. The only stumbling block is believed to be the price with Fiorentina demanding £30 million and the stubborn Arsenal board reluctant to pay. However, they are confident of negotiating a lesser fee.

Gonzalo Higuain

Following the announcement of Jose Mourinho's imminent departure, it is expected that many Real Madrid players will be on their way and the Argentine is believed to be on that list. Madrid will insist on at least £19million. Higuain has scored an impressive 120 goals in 264 games for Madrid, but has not always got the praise he deserves in a team of superstars. But a move to the Emirates would surely see him as Arsenal's main front man.

Maxime Gonalons

The Frenchman is a realistic target as the Reds are in strong need of a defensive midfielder to properly replace Alex Song who left for Barcelona last season. His club Lyon, are experiencing severe financial difficulties which could provide Wenger with the perfect platform to swoop in for the French international.

Daryl Janmaat

The Feyenord full back is on the radar as a result of right back Bacary Sagna's reluctance to sign a new contract and with his out of sort form this season. Janmaat may look to make the step up to the Premier League as he looks to cement his place in the Dutch national team.
