Chelsea have been allocated a reported £100m budget to spend in the summer transfer window.

Here are three players who could eventually join the Blues in their race for the title next season.

Andre Schurrle | Bayer Leverkusen

The 22-year-old Germany international has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, reportedly for a fee between €20m and €25m.

The forward would supplement Fernando Torres and Demba Ba. Schurrle recently stated in an interview: “I’d like to think this was my last game for Leverkusen.”

This might be a “trading deal,” as Chelsea are willing to sell young winger Kevin De Bruyne to Bayer Leverkusen. However, Borussia Dortmund have shown interest in buying De Bruyne from the Blues.

Xabi Alonso | Real Madrid

Alonso has been linked to Arsenal and Chelsea as he seeks a move away from the Bernabeu. With Jose Mourinho out as manager at Madrid, he seems likely to follow wherever his manager will end up.

Mourinho has a spot open at Chelsea, which it seems very likely at this point that Mourinho will take. However, Chelsea have recently offered Frank Lampard a new contract, so it looks as if the holding midfielder role will be occupied by either Lampard, David Luiz, and John Obi Mikel.

Cristiano Ronaldo | Real Madrid

Also rumoured to be following Jose Mourinho is Cristiano Ronaldo, who could be a major part of next year’s success at Chelsea.

Manchester United are reportedly keen to bring Ronaldo back to Old Trafford, yet Chelsea have plans to spoil the Reds’ tactics. Although the move is unlikely to occur, this long-shot deal could propel Chelsea to a Premier League title.
