Arsenal target agrees Juventus contract

Juventus have reportedly come to an agreement with Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain and only need agree a fee with Real Madrid.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has reportedly been tracking Higuain for some time and was considering a summer bid in the region of £19million.

However, it appears as though the Serie A champions have stolen a march on the Emirates Stadium outfit and agreed a four-year deal with the striker, according to Italian newspaper La Repubblica.

The report claims Antonio Conte’s side have secured Higuain’s agreement on a deal worth £4million per season, seeing off interest from Arsenal in him.

However, the Gunners may yet get a chance to hijack Juventus’ move, as the Bianconeri have still not agreed a fee with Real Madrid.

The report claims Juve’s initial offer of €20-22million has been knocked back with los Blancos holding out for something closer to €30million.

Despite Arsenal reportedly set to go on an unprecedented spending spree this summer, it would not be unlike Wenger to baulk at paying €30million for one player.
