Zlatan Ibrahimovic linked with Chelsea & Manchester City

Published 7 Comments

Chelsea and Manchester City could be about to swoop for superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovich after PSG lined up a move for a replacement.

According to the Daily Star, the big-spending Ligue 1 champions are lining up a move for Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney and are ready to offload the prolific Swede.

It also claims Chelsea and Manchester City may be the only two clubs in the Premier League that could afford Ibrahimovic’s astronomical wages.

The report claims the 31-year-old is on a wage of more than £11million a year, which is the sort of money only really handed out at Etihad Stadium and Stamford Bridge.

Paris Saint-Germain have recently been linked with a £40million move for Old Trafford star Rooney, whose future at Manchester United has been cast into doubt recently.

Ibrahimovic is also said to be open to a move to the Premier League and PSG’s possible signing of Rooney could bring it a step closer.

"Anything can happen. City were interested when I was at Barcelona - but then I was more interested in Milan,” he is quoted as saying in the report.

The 31-year-old has been one of the outstanding players in Ligue 1 this season, claiming the Golden Boot with 29 league goals – ten more than his closest rival.
