With the Champions League final drawing ever closer, GMF has decided to celebrate 20 years of Europe's elite club competition with a good old fashioned best XI.

But here's the twist. Rather than just a bog-standard formation stacked with the finest players to grace the tournament since it began in 1992, we've picked one player from each of the winners.

So from Marseille in the 1992-93 season to Chelsea last year, this ultimate Champions League XI contains one player from each of the trophy-winning squads.

Of course, with 20 winners since the modern incarnation of the tournament began, we've got quite a few substitutes.

We don't expect everyone to agree with our selections - it's all subjective. But if you feel like it, we'd love to see your best XIs in the comment selection below.

But remember, it's one player from each of the winning squads - so you can't have Didier Drogba AND Frank Lampard in your team (Chelsea winning the 2011/12 competition). It's Drogba OR Lampard.

So here you go, the GMF ultimate Champions League XI. Enjoy!
