Borussia Dortmund still dangerous without Gotze, says Ballack
Champions League final: Ex-Bayern Munich star warns his former club about the threat Borussia Dortmund can pose
Borussia Dortmund playmaker Mario Gotze will miss tomorrow's Champions League final at Wembley due to a hamstring injury.
The 20-year-old attacking-midfielder was set for a tricky final game in Dortmund jersey to play against his future employers Bayern Munich.
Jurgen Klopp's side were already heading into this big clash as the underdogs and Gotze's injury could further decreased Dortmund's chances.
However, ex-Bayern Munich player and German captain, Michael Ballack believes Dortmund will pose a strong threat to his former side.
Ballack told reporters: "It's not just about Gotze. Dortmund are dangerous for Bayern Munich."
However, Ballack has described Gotze as the greatest current talent in Germany. Gotze is set to join Bayern in the summer for £31.5m after agreeing a deal in April.
"The fact that Bayern signed him for so much money shows that he is maybe the greatest talent we have at the moment," he said.
Gotze will become the most expensive German player of all time when his transfer goes through this summer.
"He is a big loss for Dortmund. Also, for the guy to reach his first final against his new club and then miss out, it's a shame."
Last season, Dortmund beat Bayern Munich 5-2 in the German Cup final without Gotze. As a result, Ballack has warned Bayern to not write off Jurgen Klopp's side.
"Dortmund had a few fantastic games without him(Gotze) against Bayern in the last few years.
"They play as a team and will be strong."
Dortmund are aiming for their first European crown since 1997, knowing that they'll have to give their 100 per cent to secure a historic win against the mighty Bayern side.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller has signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until 2016.
