Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are both set to miss out on long-term target Lucas Biglia.
The highly rated Anderlecht midfielder has also been linked with both Manchester City and Newcastle, according to Sky Sports, with the Argentine international impressing over the last seven years at Anderlecht.
However, the 27-year-old former Independiente starlet believes it’s time to move on from life in the Belgian Pro League, and has revealed that a ‘nice offer’ has been received from Italy.
Sky Sports claims it’s Lazio who lead the chase for the player’s signature.
"The moment of taking another step has arrived. I have talked to about this with Anderlecht. There is a nice offer from Italian football," he told Abriendo Juego.
"I have been at this team for seven years. It's the moment for changing and at Anderlecht they agree with this."
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been looking to add a defensive-midfielder for several years, having never truly replaced Patrick Vieira in north London.
Gilberto Silva and Alex Song have both come and gone, whilst Abou Diaby’s injury record means he’s been unable to sustain a regular run in the position for the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium.
Tottenham Hotspur, meanwhile, have both Sandro and Scott Parker able to play in the position.
However, manager Andre Villas-Boas likes to play a 4-2-3-1 formation, meaning space to add a player of Biglia’s caliber at White Hart Lane.
But, Biglia’s latest comments mean both Spurs and Arsenal are set to miss out on the player.
