Jose Mourinho appointment key for Chelsea progression

With Chelsea fans yearning for the return of Jose Mourinho as manager, surely Stamford Bridge will be a better with the presence of the Portuguese talisman.

Despite the complaints from some that a return for Mourinho to manage Chelsea would be a possibly career-damaging experience - from the perspective of a Chelsea fan, it seems vital to the progression of the club to clutch Mourinho with both arms and ensure he is appointed manager.

Many look at Mourinho's spell at Real Madrid as a failure. However, this statement seems utterly ludicrous, when you look at what he achieved during his tenure at the Spanish giants. As-well as the fact that he has been the longest serving manager at the club since Vicente del Bosque left the club in 2003; Mourinho was able to wrestle the league title from Barcelona's stranglehold in the 2011-12 season, reasserting Madrid's position as a football power-force.

Yet, even looking at Mourinho's stint at Real Madrid, he achieved so many feats that would be of great importance toward an impending return to the Blues. For example, his integration of youth players into the Madrid set-up has proved a great hit, with gems such as Raphael Varane and Mesut Ozil stepping into the limelight at the Santiago Bernabeu and flourishing in their newly discovered first-team roles.

Surely this experience could prove vital at Chelsea, with starlets such as Nathan Ake and Kevin de Bruyne pushing for a place in the first-team.

Even his controversial actions have seemed to pay off for the giants. Despite his criticism from the Spanish media for his usage of Diego Lopez, over club captain and Spanish national team first-choice goalkeeper Iker Casillas; seems to have paid off. Lopez has been a consistent figure in the Real Madrid back-line, with an eye-catching man-of-the-match performance at Manchester United in the Champions League being a highlight.

With many Chelsea fans still silently resentful at the Chelsea board for the appointment of Rafael Benitez, surely bringing back Mourinho will be an impressive way for Roman Abramovich to regain the affection of the fans after a mixed campaign.

What better way to claim the love and affection of the supporters than to reappoint the greatest manager in their history?
