Ferdinand tips Bayern Munich for Champions League glory

Published 2 Comments

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has tipped Bayern Munich to beat Borussia Dortmund in tonight’s much anticipated Champions League final.

In an exclusive interview for Ferdinand’s official Facebook page, the Old Trafford centre-half predicted a 1-0 win for the Bundesliga champions over Jurgen Klopp’s Dortmund.

And Ferdinand had a couple of names for fans to keep their eye on during the match tonight, after revealing he’s been asking Shinji Kagawa for the inside track on the Dortmund stars.

For Klopp’s side, Ferdinand admits he’s a huge fan of Marco Reus and Robert Lewandowski, and thinks the pairing will be key to their hopes of a first Champions League win since 1997.

Kagawa, who joined United from Dortmund last summer, has been talking up the ability of Mario Gotze and Mats Hummels, according to Ferdinand. Unfortunately, Gotze - who has agreed to join Bayern Munich at the end of the season - will miss tonight's game through injury.

As for Bayern, Franck Ribery is the man to watch out for as far as Ferdinand is concerned, while Mario Gomez could be the striker to break the deadlock – if he plays of course.

He's expecting a closely fought contest in this all-German affair, but Ferdinand - who's a Champions League winner himself - is backing the Bavarians to come good this evening.
