Michael Laudrup staying put at Swansea City
Swansea City news: Michael Laudrup will stay at the Liberty stadium, according to his agent
Swansea City manager Michael Laudrup is set to stay at the Liberty Stadium, his agent has revealed.
The 48-year-old steered the Swans to their first major trophy win in their history by lifting the Capital One Cup in February, and helped them finish ninth in the table in his debut season in charge.
Consequently, Laudrup caught the attention of some of the bigger clubs in Europe, with some rumours touting him to take up the Real Madrid job in the summer.
To dampen the speculations, the former Mallorca chief signed a one year extension in his contract in March. He is believed to be determined in leading the Welsh club in their European adventure next season.
And his representative, Bayram Tutumulu has confirmed that his client is satisfied with his current job, and carries no intentions of making a Liberty Stadium exit for at least another year.
His agent told BBC Sport: “Michael Laudrup, just now, is very happy at Swansea City. Of course Michael has had offers from elsewhere.
"Other teams can wait one or two years. We know Michael is going to train the big teams but this is not the moment.
"Michael doesn't think about other teams because he promised to the players and the fans he wants to stay in Swansea.”
Tutumulu also unearthed that Laudrup communicated his ideas on how to take the club forward in the 2013/14 term and ensure that their form does not go in a downward spiral.
He added: “A good team is no problem. If they don't have the possibility of making a good team, I don't know what can happen. Michael needs good players.
"We don't want to have the same experience as Newcastle for example. He told the board and the chairman that [Swansea] need a very good squad this year."
