Ivorian defender sent off after suffering racist abuse

Published 28 Comments

Alania defender Dacosta Goore was shown a red card in his side's 2-0 defeat against Spartak Moscow on Sunday after he was racially abused by a section of home supporters.

Referee Alexey Nikolaev handed the Ivorian his marching orders after just six minutes for reacting by raising his middle finger to alleged racial abuse from the Spartak Moscow fans at the Eduard Streltsov Stadium.

To rub salt into the wounds the home side went on to claim a 2-0 win on the final day of the season thanks to goals from Sergey Bryzgalov and Jano Ananidze, earning them a Europa League spot in the process.
