Manchester City

Manuel Pellegrini is expected to take up the reins at the Etihad Stadium after Roberto Mancini’s sacking, though he will be tested by a squad that appeared to have all of the talent and none of the desire last season.

City have an exceptional squad and, with some expected expensive additions in the summer, should be best placed to capitalise on any vulnerability at their neighbours.

New football directors, manager and, probably, players indicate a new project is underway at Manchester City – the question that always hangs over new projects is whether everyone can pull in the same direction.
