Chelsea are preparing for their new season and are surely hoping to build on an impressive but incomplete squad for incoming manager Jose Mourinho to push towards major honours.
They are lacking in a few major positions and with plenty of names tipped for the Blues, it will be incredibly interesting to see who is playing at Stamford Bridge next season. Here are five realistic targets Chelsea may attempt to sign.
1. Andre Schurrle | Bayer Leverkusen
Schurrle has been heavily linked to Chelsea for some time with some sources suggesting a deal is in place already. It's no surprise as he fits the mould of the type of player Chelsea have been signing in recent seasons - young, skilful and creative, yet unproven at the highest level.
They have got it right with Eden Hazard and Oscar and many believe Schurrle has the potential to do the same, especially as he can play in a variety of positions, either upfront or in midfield.
2. Luke Shaw | Southampton
Shaw has been exceptional in his first professional season and in the Barclays Premier League no less. At only 17, Shaw has been phenomenal both defensively and offensively for Southampton and has caught the attention of a number of big clubs.
However, he has been a Chelsea fan since he was a boy and should the London club tempt the Saints with a lofty bid, the quick left-back could become the long-term replacement for Ashley Cole.
3. Hulk | Zenit St Petersburg
Hulk has been linked with Chelsea for what seems like an eternity and now reports suggest he could finally be on his way to west London.
With the Blues set to miss out on other big name moves, Hulk could be the best option for a reasonable price after an unhappy year in Russia, that said he has one of the most ferocious shots in football and could add some needed muscle in Chelsea's forward line.
4. Eliaquim Mangala | FC Porto
Mourinho is said to be a huge fan of the powerful 22-year-old after an excellent season in Portugal for the league champions.
He would add some extra strength and precision to the Chelsea back line with Gary Cahill now the only first choice out and out centre back with Branislav Ivanovic and David Luiz both capable of playing elsewhere. Mangala has been talked about for some time as the man the Chelsea defence need.
5. Edinson Cavani | Napoli
Cavani has been extremely impressive over the past few seasons and has attracted global interest for his performances. Napoli have stated they do not want to sell but with Chelsea able to afford his ludicrous price tag, he could well be moving on.
With previous Chelsea number one target Radamel Falcao now reported to be going to Monaco, Cavani has become the Blues' new ideal man for their front line as many feel they are one world-class striker away from being serious title contenders.
