Liverpool have completed the signing of Spanish striker Iago Aspas in a £9million deal, which could be in preparation for the departure of Luis Suarez.
According to the Daily Star, Brendan Rodgers has all but tied up the deal to bring Aspas to Anfield once he plays in Celta Vigo’s final La Liga game on Saturday.
The report claims Liverpool are gearing up for life without Luis Suarez, despite the Uruguayan’s agent insisting he was happy at Anfield.
It was in response to an interview given by Suarez where he criticised the British press and admitted a liking for Real Madrid.
Signing Aspas will leave Rodgers with four different front men capable of playing in the central striking role, as well as out wide.
The 25-year-old has scored 12 goals in La Liga this season for Celta, though this has not stopped them from falling into the relegation zone and needing a win on Saturday to escape the drop.
Aspas will join Daniel Sturridge, Fabio Borini and Luis Suarez, if Liverpool can hang on to their man main, in the new look Anfield front line.
