Bayern Munich 4-0 Barcelona

This is the game that many have cited as the defining clash in a new era of Bundesliga domination.

The Allianz Arena has probably never seen such an impressive performance from the Bavarian side – one that was fitting of their occasional nickname FC Hollywood, though not quite in the sense it is usually is.

Jupp Heynckes’ side virtually guaranteed their place at Wembley by blowing away Barcelona so completely the Bavarians looked and ordinary side. Lionel Messi hardly had a sniff all night and Thomas Müller put in a masterclass of matching energy with intelligent movement. A breathtaking performance.
