Cleveland Browns' running back Trent Richardson could be out for an extended period due to a shin injury, according to reports.
The 21-year-old has a strained muscle in his shin although it is said that the injury doesn't appear to be too serious.
Richardson hasn't been the luckiest when it comes to injuries. As a rookie, hemissed the exhibition season while recovering from knee surgery and played most of the year despite having two broken ribs.
Despite this, the first-round draft pick still managed to rush for 950 yards with 11 touchdowns and was the first Browns rookie ever to score a touchdown after rushing over 100 yards.
Richardson missed training on Thursday to work on his conditioning while teammates went through a session of organised team activities.
The Browns had a poor year last time out, winning only five of their 16 matches. They will be hoping for better next time round in an attempt to reach the Super Bowl for the first time in their 67 year history.
