Jose Mourinho told Ferguson his Chelsea dream

Published Add your comment

Jose Mourinho confided in Sir Alex Ferguson that he was desperate to leave Real Madrid for Chelsea at the end of this season.

The Sun have a report describing a meeting between the now retired Manchester United manager and Mourinho where the Portuguese confessed he was desperate to leave the Santiago Bernabeu.

Not only that, it claims Mourinho was determined to turn down any offer other than the top job at Stamford Bridge.

It now appears certain that he will become Blues manager once again after the final La Liga game of the season on Saturday.

The report claims Mourinho had become tired of the politics and power struggles of behind the scenes at Real Madrid and decided it was time to settle somewhere long-term.

All this he conveyed to the legendary Manchester United boss in their meeting over a bottle of red wine.

Ferguson would also have been readying himself for a major decision, as he would announce his retirement after 26 years in charge at Old Trafford a couple of months later.
