Chelsea defender David Luiz has played down talk of a potential summer move to Barcelona.
The Brazilian international arrived at Stamford Bridge from Benfica on deadline day back in January 2011, and has been a regular feature in the Blues side under a string of different managers.
However, the 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the La Liga champions following a particularly impressive campaign under Roberto Di Matteo and then Rafa Benitez in west London, helping the club to Europa League glory and a top four finish in the Premier League.
Luiz is happy to admit that he has an admiration for the way Barca play football and develop players, but he’s also got no news on the current transfer speculation and is enjoying life at Chelsea.
"My objective is to be happy and this is possible playing always in a team that controls the ball,” Luiz told The Daily Star.
"Barcelona is the team that has developed the best football in the last few years. I know Barca were interested in my services in the past but now I do not have any news."
Luiz showed his versatility last term, playing at both centre back and in defensive midfield for the Blues, and Jose Mourinho could look to use the Brazilian in either role if he takes over at Chelsea as expected in the coming weeks.
