New Napoli boss Rafa Benitez has made Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen his top target this summer, according to the Mirror.

Despite recent rumours Vermaelen insisted earlier this week that he is committed to staying in north London.

Barcelona defender Eric Abidal says his Barcelona exit is 'complicated'.

The Frenchman is being let go by Barcelona after six seasons having undergone a liver transplant in April.

Malaga manager Manuel Pellegrini says he has a verbal agreement to become the next Manchester City boss.

However the Chilean says he has not signed a contract as yet.

Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe says it would be fantastic if he becomes the 19th man to score 20 goals for England.

The 30-year-old will have the chance to join the elite club when the Three Lions take on Brazil on Sunday.

Manchester United legend Andy Cole says the only regret of his career is leaving the Red Devils prematurely.

The striker left Old Trafford in 2001 to join Blackburn, but said he would liked to have played longer under Sir Alex Ferguson.
