Arsenal: Santi Cazorla voted Player of the Season

The official Arsenal website has been revealing the results of their poll to find out who has been voted as their Player of the Season - and today they announced that Santi Cazorla came first with 55.7% of the votes.

After the final game of the season against Newcastle earlier this month, the official website set up a poll for fans to vote for their player of the season.

Cazorla finished miles ahead of any other player after becoming one of the team's key players in his debut season in England.

The Spaniard seems to be the man who can finally replace the likes of Samir Nasri or even Cesc Fabregas - and has been very impressive for the Gunners all campaign.

Since signing from Malaga last summer, Cazorla went on to score 12 goals in all competitions for his new side and also contributed 12 assists.

His performances over the season impressed everyone, including his manager Arsene Wenger, who said it was very harsh that he missed out on being named in the PFA Team of the Year.

Picking up 55.7% of the fans votes show that they had no doubt in their mind who their player of the season was.

Second to Cazorla was French defender Laurent Koscielny, who put in a string of superb performances in the final few months of the season and he picked up 13.5% of the fans votes.

In third place was top goalscorer Theo Walcott. After his best ever season in Arsenal colours, Walcott signed a new contract and also finished with his best scoring record of 21 goals in all competitions.

His performances didn't go unnoticed by the fans as he picked up 12.7% of the fans votes.

Completing the top four was Spaniard Mikel Arteta. Playing in an unfamiliar role, Arteta has still been a solid performer for the Gunners and he picked up 5% of the fans votes.

So the top four players for Arsenal as voted for by the fans are:

1. Santi Cazorla

2. Laurent Koscielny

3. Theo Walcott

4. Mikel Arteta
