West Bromwich Albion defender Gabriel Tamas was arrested in the early hours of this morning after drunkenly breaking into a block of flats while on international duty in Romania.
The 29-year-old was held at a police station after causing damage to the front door of the property, which he kicked in to force an entry.
Tamas has a bit of a history of getting into trouble, after he was banned from the Romanian national team two years ago following another late-night drinking session with former Chelsea striker Adrian Mutu.
A police source, quoted in the Romanian media, said: "Footballer Gabriel Tamas was in an advanced state of intoxication."
West Brom officials have confirmed that they are aware of the incident and will be holding their own investigation into the player's actions.
Tamas has just over 12 months remaining on his contract with the Baggies, but there will surely now be doubts about his long-term future at The Hawthorns.
