Brazil will be taking on England in the Maracana on Sunday – if the stadium doesn’t fall down before then – and centre stage will be Neymar.
All eyes will be on the Seleção’s new saviour for two main reasons in the match with Roy Hodgson’s men.
Firstly, he is now officially confirmed as a Barcelona player and will supposedly be unveiled by the Catalan club on Monday, making the England clash his last game before one of the most high-profile transfer sagas in recent times closes.
Lionel Messi with Neymar is a combination that will set many tongues wagging and there are likely to be vast numbers of people that will want to watch the game.
Secondly, the corresponding fixture at Wembley earlier this year saw Neymar put in an under par performance as England triumphed 2-1 thanks to a Frank Lampard golazo.
Professional mouth and footballer Joey Barton was conspicuous on social networks with his criticisms and claims that Neymar was overrated, so much so that the 21-year-old was even asked about it in a press conference.
GMF are of the opinion that Neymar is the real deal and WILL be one of the world’s top five players in the next few years.
GMF wanted to remind you, dear reader, of what he is capable, so we picked out five of his best goals for your pleasure.
These are in no order and GMF accept you may consider other goals to be better, so we want you to tell us in the comments section – the more Neymar wondergoal love, the better…
This one v Flamengo in 2011 won the FIFA Puskas Award for best goal:
The first touch nutmeg for this goal against Ronaldinho’s Atletico Mineiro is just astounding:
This one against Internacional was a 2012 Puskas Award nominee didn’t get first place:
A little step over and surge past a defender is nothing remarkable when it come to Neymar, but the delicate chip to finish the move off is sublime:
A bit of luck in the middle, true, but he dribbles past about four players before hilariously making the ‘keeper lie down – he even knocks it in off a defender:
How about that then? Neymar is pretty special, isn’t he? Which goal do you prefer? Which other Neymar goals do you think we need to see?
