David Luiz and fellow countryman Ramires have become vital components to the Chelsea puzzle.

The Brazilian superstars have become indispensable to Chelsea over the last number of years. The pair have added an extra dimension to the Chelsea set up in both attack and defence.

Luiz fortunes have transformed at Stamford Bridge since Rafael Benitez pushed the central defender up into midfield where he has flourished with his new found freedom.

Luiz has also chipped in with vital goals this season including a stunning strike from a free-kick against FC Basel in the Europa League semi-final.

Ramires' effortless displays in blue have made the skilful South American a fans' favourite at Chelsea.

Ramires covers so much ground in 90 minutes often making tackles in defence. He also creates opportunities and scores at the opposition's dismay.

Both players bring different characteristics of Samba football to west London with flair, skill, passion and technique on display week-in, week-out.

In recent months, David Luiz has been attracting attention from Barcelona, with rumours surfacing that the hierarchy at the Nou Camp wish to add Luiz to the Barcelona roster to replace club legend Carlos Puyol.

With former interim manager Benitez sounding out Luiz and Ramires as summer signings for his new club Napoli, Chelsea have to be cautious as losing these players would dent the chances of retaining silverware next season.

Time will tell whether Chelsea have the capabilities to hold on to some of their prized assets but hopefully for the fans sake they hold onto the entertaining South Americans.
