Luis Suarez has publicly stated that he intends to leave Liverpool this summer. Should this be the case, Chelsea should look to capture the controversial Uruguayan.
The back pages of newspapers are continuously flooded with articles slating the Kop favourite. Suarez has never been too far away from the limelight for all the wrong reasons.
Though the talented menace has many flaws, most recently trying to take a chunk out of Branislav Ivanovic's arm, nobody can deny that Suarez has a touch of class about him. Suarez can produce moments of magic on the football field and has tormented defences in the Premier League since he signed for Liverpool in 2011.
Nevertheless Suarez feels his time is up at Liverpool and wants to experience pastures new. While he has announced to a media frenzy, at the Uruguayan training camp for the upcoming friendly against France, that he wishes to leave England as he is bullied by the English press, Chelsea should take interest in this situation.
Liverpool are arguably unwilling to sell their prized asset but a £40m bid could easily persuade the Liverpool hierarchy into selling - and that sum of money could locate an adequate replacement.
Chelsea have previously signed Fernando Torres from Liverpool in a £50m deal and fashioning another bid for the clubs top striker would obviously spark another debate and controversy between the two rivals.
Suarez would add an extra dimension to the Chelsea attack already boasting highly talent stars Juan Mata, Demba Ba, Fernando Torres, Eden Hazard and Oscar.
Suarez would have to patch up his relationship with Chelsea defender Ivanovic and win over players and fans at Stamford Bridge - but if he resulted with goals and fine displays of attacking talent these events would be merely a distant memory.
Even though a deal is unlikely to be struck between the two clubs, no one can deny that if Suarez signed on the dotted line at Stamford Bridge, he would add a tremendous boost of attacking talent, flair and skill that would wreak havoc on Premier League defences throughout the season.
