New Chelsea boss wants Manchester City striker signing

Published 18 Comments

New Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has put Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko on his summer transfer wanted list, according to reports.

The Daily Telegraph claims 'the special one' is eager to bolster the Blues' attacking line as a first priority, and has Dzeko and Fiorentina star Stevan Jovetic among his targets.

Chelsea have tried to sign Dzeko in the past, according to the report, and the Bosnian has been heavily linked with a move away from the Etihad Stadium this summer. Indeed, reports have claimed the forward could be used in a player-plus-cash offer to bring Edinson Cavani to the club from Napoli.

Mourinho will hope to keep the 27-year-old in the Premier League however, and his arrival would certainly add to the Blues’ attacking options. Currently, the Portuguese will have just Fernando Torres and Demba Ba to choose from in attack.

Chelsea are hopeful of bringing Andre Schurrle to the club this summer however, and Mourinho could well look to instigate a transfer revolution following his second-coming under Roman Abramovich in west London.
